Question by MikeyG: What is the difference between having flu-like symptoms and having the flu?
I’m asking because pro-atheletes are constantly sidelined by what is called “flu-like symptoms” I never hear this term used anywhere but professional sports. Why don’t they just act like normal people and say they have the flu?

The flue is caused by the influenza virus. There are many flue like symptoms that can be caused by many things other than this virus.
