What Were the Most Popular Drugs in the 1950s?

Question by Selena: What were the most popular drugs in the 1950s?

Best answer:

Answer by Rachel
Recreational drugs weren’t popular in the 1950’s.

A few jazz musicians on the fringe of society smoked grass, and an even smaller minority used heroin, but doing drugs was almost unheard of by people other than musicians until the mid-to-late 1960’s when the hippie counterculture embraced grass, LSD, and heroin.

Dealing With an Alcoholic Family Member: Leaving a Church… Not Being Fed Spiritually?

Question by Thom: Leaving a church… not being fed spiritually?
So, here’s the deal. My wife and I have been going to a church for the past year, not yet members, and we are having second thoughts about everything. Here are some issues we are having.

1. I inquired back in May concerning baptism. I need to publically show my commitment to Christ. Three months have gone by and my pastor has said nothing to us. I went to a church last week that baptises people ASAP after they inquire about it. Why is this guy waiting??

2. My wife and I have gone to three bible studies this year. And, we were only felt spiritually fed at one study. My wife’s other study was about managing her moods and mine was about biblical worldview. We feel as new believers that we need more Bible teaching than anything else, especially biblical application. Most of these studies, including sunday school, are led primarily though DVD videos. I have a real problem with them not really teaching believers the word of God.
