Is Divorce Bad for People’s Health?

Question by Last Ent Wife (RCIA): Is divorce bad for people’s health?
“…the stress of separation and divorce can place both men and women at increased risk for a host of psychological and physical problems. Hetherington observed increased levels of alcoholism, substance abuse, depression, psychosomatic problems, and accidents among divorced adults compared with non-divorced adults. She explains that the martial breakdown can even hamper the immunological system of an individual, making the divorced individual more susceptible to disease, infection, chronic and acute medical problems, and even death.”
Other studies agree, with one even noting that “The health disparity between people who are married and those who are divorced is one of the most consistent observations in health research.”

Are you surprised to learn that divorce can be such a huge physical problem?

BuyBill Thumper – The data does not agree with you at all. In fact it suggests the opposite. Are you going to cite some sources for your belief, or are you just going to stick to your “gut instinct” and have “faith” in your answer?
I do hope you garner my point.
