Causes of Panic Attacks
Causes of Panic Attacks
Although there has been many studies run to determine what would be a panic attack cause, there really is not anything concrete about the matter. However, the sudden onset of intense anxiety accompanied by overwhelming fear and worry as well as shortness of breath, trembling, sweating and increase in heart rate are symptoms of these attacks. Although, research is unsure of the exact panic attack cause, they do consider that there are many things that can trigger an episode of an attack for various individuals. They consider that there are environmental and biological factors at work that can trigger these attacks. They have even studied the idea of the attacks being genetic, much the same way that eye and hair color are inherited by one or both biological parents. It seems that these disorders can run in families. There are some individuals who can trace a this disorder to another family member.
Brain abnormalities may be another biological factor that is a cause, since this disorder may change the processes of brain functions. According to recent studies, these attacks can occur with post traumatic stress disorder or schizophrenia, which are psychotic disorders and some of these psychotic symptoms may also trigger the feelings associated with panic attacks.
Some researchers consider that the bodies natural defense system of fight or flight responses may be involved with the symptoms of the attacks. This is a natural system for all humans and it acts like a natural alarm system that activates the physical and mental mechanisms that permits an individual to respond quickly to danger or threats of danger. These may include an increase in heart rate and in the natural breathing patterns. When this happens during an attack most often there is no real threat of danger in sight, these feelings are simply triggered and the symptoms escalate. However, it is still unknown why this would occur while there is no present danger for flight or fright.
Some panic attack causes may occur during times of overwhelming stress in life. An individual may be suffering from the stress of separation or the death of a loved one. In such cases, researchers consider that stress can lower your physical and mental resistance and a hidden physical predisposition can work to trigger such causes. Environmental attack causes may be that associated with addictions such as drug abuse or alcohol abuse, whether by intoxication or withdrawal symptoms. According to individual circumstances, drug and alcohol abuse and addiction can bring on the symptoms of a panic attack. It is also possible for environmental and biological factors can work in tandem to cause these attacks in some individuals.
It seems that panic attacks can strike an individual at anytime without any triggers. However, some individuals can cause the attacks to escalate while in response to any physical symptoms that accompany the attack. They may be able to do this according to the fears and anxiety they experience for any reason that they associate with overwhelming anxiety. However, since there has been no clear identification as to what may bring on an attack cause, it is essential to seek aid by trying various types of treatments or therapy until they are able to handle the pressures of life.
