Question by Amy: So say I have a “friend” who cuts herself. What should I do?
I just recently noticed the cuts on her arms. Her parents are alcoholics and abusive. I think that contributes to her self mutilation. I am really worried about her. What should I do?

Is she under 18- call child protective services
encourage her to go to places for children of alcoholics or just to go to some sort of therapy where she can talk to other about what is happening to her. Listen to her and tell her you are worried about her, tell her you notice the cuts and it worries you.
