Gordon finds inspiration in studying clarity of purpose in growing up with an alcoholic parent rich with material goods but lacking in fulfillment. I wrote this song for my mother about her relationship with my alcoholic father. She loved him so much that she really wanted to believe his Liquor Coated Lies. This is my family’s story and it was a pretty hard one to write. This was a very painful time in our lives. I am sure there are others out there that went through similar situations. I had Jeff Carson at Hunting Creek Music sing the Demo for me. He has had a number of Hit Songs in the past. Including a #1 song back in 1995 with “Not on your Love”. I was so happy to get him to sing it for me. I wanted to give it to my mother for Christmas. This is the first song I have written, but since this I have many more in the works. I hope you like it.
