Would You Consider Me an Alcoholic?

I will be the first to admit that I drink quite a lot and would like to drink only when I go out, but I enjoy drinking at night and I drink quite a few cans a night. I would say I drink about 8 cans of lager a night. I know this is excessive, but it doesn’t interfere with my working life or my life in general. However, I have become concerned of late that I find myself in the shop JUST buying booze. I eat regularly, but when I walk into the shop.. they look at me as if to say “shit! he’s back. He must be an alcoholic”. I am in no way dependant on alcohol, but I do feel I drink too much. I will drink back on seven o clock, and I don’t care how much I drink after that. It doesn’t bother me and I am not hungover the next morning or stinking of booze in work.
The problem is, I find this excessive drinking and expensive and I would like to stop.
Would you consider me an alcoholic?
