What Are Depression Symptoms: Is Depression Hereditary?

Question by ??lï?????h: Is depression hereditary?
My dad is depressed and I think that I am starting down the path of depression, don’t laugh or tell me I’m not, I know my “symptoms” but want to know if I had a higher chance of this because of my Father.

BQ: If you have expierenced depression or have a close friend/family member that has experienced depression, how did you/they get over it? What kinds of things can you do to uplift the I-don’t-want-to-move-or-talk-or-do-anything attitude?

Best answer:

Answer by girlie
depression can be passed down through family.
It is not something that can be cured by taking a pill. It takes a bit of time with the right medication and counseling support.
It is important to keep yourself around people who care about you, find spiritual support.
Exercise helps.
It is a chemical imbalance…. you can work through it especially if you know and can recognize the symptoms and try to counteract that feeling
Good luck….
