1. Yes, any alcohol given now jeopardize any rehab program he is undergoing now.
2. Yes, alcohol and sedatives have a cumulative effects. He will have more intoxication with lower amounts of alcohol.

My advise: If your husband should really want to be rehabilitated to undergo true transformation.
It will be very hard on your husband and you now, but its the best in the long run.
If your husband doesn’t want rehabilitation, he is going to revert once he is out of the hospital. Its upto you and him to decide what to do.

1.no sneaking him a drink won’t help him or stop DT’s.

A few drinks certainly gets rid of the DTs as the DTs is a withdrawal symptom so more booze gets rid of the withdrawal symptoms.

Basically what causes the DTs is a magnesium deficiency and too much booze depletes your magnesium levels and that causes the trembling. Alcoholics or heavy drinkers need to take a magnesium supplement every day to help this problem. Nuts are quite rich in magnesium.
