Grownups suffer from constant stress, so what can be said about poor young men and women who are twice as impressible as any grownup. There are a lot of reasons for children to start drinking. The first one is the example of parents that have drinking problem within family for quite a few years. A child might reject the lifestyle of parents completely, observing the consequences of drinking or accept it being sure that it is the normal way to act and behave in the society. Parents may know or not be aware of a problem a child has. The second reason a child drinks alcohol though he or she thinks about it as disgusting is the goal to attract attention of parents that for one or the other reason can not give themselves fully to children that start their first specs in the society as aware individuals. The third reason may be to show off, to protest against something or to look different from others. The goal of a teenager is to show everyone who he or she is. Alcohol is harmful, forbidden and unacceptable at a young age, but these three factors alone are a powerful motivator that will provoke a child to take a bottle and taste the forbidden drink. And the last but not least is the reason called the “adult”. The essence of the reason is to escape from harsh reality and avoid solutions of problems. Any of these reasons may be applied even to a social drinker.
Drinking is a problem, but no dry laws, no special events have yet influenced on the solution of it. Society itself has to finally evaluate the reason for drinking and bring up children that are aware of dangers some of the things that seem quite attractive contain.
