Alcoholism in the Context of Family, Spirituality and Society

Alcoholism is that common addiction to those whose drinking has become habitual, suffer from.

When one can not control his drinking, several aspects of his life suffer, which in the long run affect his or her significant others, such as family and friends.

In this article though, I wish to explore only three areas namely: family, spirituality and society.

Family

When I talk about family, I encompass many issues such as love, relationships and marriage since a drunkard is single, single and deceased or divorced, engaged or married.

The young and single

Nowadays, the people who form the foundation for alcoholism statistics are the young and vibrant.

This is because they have chosen the bottle among other dangerous habits such as irresponsible intimacy as fun activities.

Whose money do they use to purchase alcohol and drugs yet they are minors is the key question one may ask.

Astonishingly, today’s parenting is to be blamed because fathers and mothers drink in the house freely and invite their kids for sip.

On top of this, they spoil them with unnecessary cash which they could not think of a better use except drinking it.

This affects your family well being because these kids may steal your car and cause accidents with it, die with friends, fail in school, or engage in drug trafficking among others.

Engaged

I do not understand if it is the obvious anxiety of having to wed soon that creates these kinds of alcohol abusers.

While the preachers and marriage counselors want to insist on marriage whose root is being committed and responsible, engaged people are becoming proper victims of alcoholism.

The results of these is mystifying lovebirds deaths through tragic road accidents because of driving under influence of alcohol, broken engagement and all sorts of horrible stories.

Single and divorced or deceased

These are still lovely aspects of our families who fail to find other ways to deal with stress of divorce or domestic violence except through alcoholism and drugs in some cases.

These might have their own jobs and money and therefore it becomes difficult to help them change by talking them out of the habit.

I have seen many losing their jobs because their drinking has gone beyond what their employers can tolerate from a drunkard.

Others sleep in the clubs in efforts to fill the empty holes left by the horrible divorce or departure of their spouse.

What good could this result to except catching sexually transmitted diseases among others related to alcohol?

Married

Cases of alcoholism among the married are very high currently, which explains why those who are seeking divorce are on the rise as well.

Doctors of love want to blame this on matters behind those bedroom doors, being unadventurous.

You see, what was once hot intimacy can grow dim and boring and a bottle is one way to spice this up.

At the pub, one can meet beautiful women of different shapes and sizes, who are not afraid of displaying their “exhibits” for any one who is hungry for such.
