Conversations become intimate, hilarious and intense with newfound wisdom on romance, religion and politics; but sooner or later wives and watches take precedence and I’m abandoned –even the barmaid too busy for my drunken rambling. All she has to say is, “Another?” Who am I to argue –for imported ale is the nectar of fallen angels. Each bottle whispers, “Now you are truly free except for a maddening thirst I’ll quench eternally. So make a toast as I unveil Nirvana –where lovers, friends

This is part two of episode one of a short documentary series on Rose Martin, a social worker in Ann Arbor, Michigan who has been helping the homeless, those recently released from prison, recovering addicts, and unemployed for over 40 years. The series focuses on those who are currently receiving her help, as well as those who are now returning the favor – assisting Rose on her mission to fight for those who are struggling against insurmountable odds to regain their lives back.
